Announcing our new course: State-of-the-Art in Innovation in Digital Health and Wellbeing

September 18, 2025

Healthcare is changing fast, shaped by technology, shifting policies, and new expectations from patients and providers alike. UNITE is proud to announce its first MOOC, “State-of-the-Art in Innovation in Digital Health and Wellbeing,” developed by the UNITE consortium and invited experts from the field to help participants navigate this transformation and lead the next wave of health innovation.

The programme explores how artificial intelligence, remote monitoring, wearable devices, telemedicine, and immersive tools such as virtual and augmented reality are redefining care delivery and personal wellbeing. It does not shy away from the complex issues that accompany these opportunities.

Participants will examine how to handle regulatory requirements like GDPR and the new AI Act, address cybersecurity and privacy concerns, and overcome the technical and organisational barriers of interoperability. Case studies and real-world examples illustrate both the promise and the challenges of bringing groundbreaking ideas to market.

Designed for a broad audience-entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers, and investors-the course invites anyone curious about the digital health landscape to gain an advanced understanding without needing a technical background. Learners will discover how emerging technologies meet real-world healthcare needs and how innovation can be implemented responsibly and sustainably.

Delivered fully online in a flexible format, the course allows participants to engage at their own pace while benefiting from expert insights and practical tools. Certification details and the official start date will be announced soon, but early interest is already strong.

This debut course reflects UNITE’s mission to make innovation equitable, ethical, and impactful. By offering a holistic perspective on technology, regulation, and human wellbeing, it equips learners not just to understand the future of healthcare but to shape it.

The course will be officially published on September 30, 2025 through the 28DIGITAL ICARUS platform, opening the door for learners across Europe and beyond to join this transformative journey. This launch marks the first step in making cutting-edge digital health knowledge widely accessible, ensuring that diverse audiences can engage, learn, and apply innovation in their own contexts.
